This policy describes what information Smartlens, Inc. ("Smartlens", "we") collects on this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. The short version: we set no cookies for visitors, we use no third-party trackers or advertising, and we only collect personal information that you choose to send us through our forms.
When you submit our contact or launch notification forms, we collect the information you enter: your name, email address, and message, and — for launch notification signups — your phone number (optional) and practice or institution name. We use this information solely to respond to your inquiry and to follow up about the products you expressed interest in. We do not sell it, share it for marketing, or use it for advertising.
Submissions are stored in our database, hosted by Cloudflare, and a copy is delivered to our team by email through Resend, our email delivery provider. Both providers process this data on our behalf and are based in the United States. We retain submissions for as long as needed to handle your inquiry and our ongoing relationship with you; you can ask us to delete them at any time (see "Your rights" below).
We use privacy-preserving, self-hosted analytics to understand how the site is used. For each page visit we record the page path, the referring website (if any), your country, your device type, your browser and operating system family (for example "Chrome on Windows", without version numbers), a coarse screen-size category, any campaign tags (utm parameters) in the link you followed, how long the page was visible, and how far down the page you scrolled. We also count anonymous interaction events: clicks on links to other websites, video plays, form submissions (the count only, separate from the form contents), and visits to missing pages.
To count unique visitors without identifying anyone, we compute a truncated hash of your IP address and browser that changes every day; your IP address itself is never stored, and visits cannot be linked across days. This measurement uses no cookies and stores nothing on your device. Where the GDPR applies, we process this data under our legitimate interest in understanding aggregate use of our site.
Our website is served by Cloudflare, which processes IP addresses and related technical data as necessary to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. All fonts and other assets are served from our own domain — visiting this site sends no requests to third-party services.
This website sets no cookies for visitors, which is why you won't see a cookie banner. The only cookie used anywhere on the site is a login cookie for Smartlens staff accessing our internal admin area.
Depending on where you live (including the EU/EEA and UK under the GDPR, California under the CCPA/CalOPPA, and Canada under PIPEDA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, to object to or restrict its processing, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@smartlens.health and we will respond promptly. We honor "Do Not Track" signals by design — we do not track visitors in the first place.
This website is intended for eye care professionals, partners, and investors. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.
If we change how we handle personal information — for example, by adding new tools or services — we will update this page and its effective date.
